"Managers and Compassion Fatigue" presented by Licensed Professional Counselor Becky  Murray.

The term “Compassion Fatigue” has many definitions, all varying slightly.  Most definitions include the element of “burnout”, a syndrome of extreme emotional and physical exhaustion which leave a person unwilling or unable to perform his/her work anymore.  The other element usually included is secondary traumatic stress, also known as vicarious trauma.  Regardless of the exact definition used, compassion fatigue has been identified as an occupational hazard in any helping profession.  This lecture will explore compassion fatigue in the veterinary industry and specifically focus on ways that managers can better cope with compassion fatigue personally and with their staff.

 Hope to see you there!

Please be sure to register for the meeting, although this meeting is at no charge for current members, we ask that you RSVP so we may plan accordingly for lunch.  PLEASE NOTE:  If you membership is not current the attendance fee is $25 total per meeting.
